(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? 😁 Found BYC online while searching answers to questions as of a month ago. Wanted to join due to wanting to learn more about hatching chick's.
(8) Hatching was going great with multiple births until yesterday at 4pm a chick was pipping and tonight at 9pm seemed stuck in the shell and not making further progress (I believe from shrink-wrap) so I assisted the chick after researching how and now the chick has what looks like a thick cord trailing from its umbilical cord. It bled for a couple minutes but has stopped. Chick is still moving around and peeping off and on but Im worried he/she is hurting or wont make it.
Thanks for all your help and guidance so far! 😁

Welcome to Backyard Chickens.. Is the cord still on it cut close to the body .. s
She will thrive chances are good.
Yes the dark red cord is cut close to the body but it's attached to a pretty lengthy gooey looking chunky cord like substance.
