Hello,
This is my first experience with baby chicks. My hen went broody, despite my efforts to break it she was relentless so I let her sit. I wasn’t aware that other hens would drop eggs into her nesting box until 2 weeks later. There were 4 eggs, and I then separated her from the other hens. The first chick didn’t make it out and was gone by the time I found it. I had to help the second hatch and put her back under Momma, the third one hatched on her own 2 days later. One week later the last egg started to hatch. I found it pipped and rocking by itself and cold to the touch so I removed the 2 older babies and put them inside so Momma bird could focus on the hatching egg. Later that night it had pipped a hole through the egg but momma bird was just staring at it, not sitting and it was cold to the touch again so I brought her in and made a makeshift incubator in my bathroom and helped her hatch the following day. We didn’t think she would make it but she is doing great! But she is all by herself, when can I introduce her to the other 2 chicks? They are 10 and 8 days old and she is 1 day old.

I ordered 2 groups of chicks 2 weeks apart last fall and they all were in the same brooder and did just fine.

If they're headed to a new home tomorrow I would do it today and keep a close eye on them to make sure the newbie is eating, drinking, and not being picked on. I would expect it would be ok though.
