I just got 5 baby chicks raising them inside I've had them for 8 days and they were born on 2/8 so not even 2 weeks old. I noticed one of the chicks has the beginning stages of a bulge in the corner of her eye on one side. I keep a clean environment for them, feed them medicated chicken crumbles, along with a little apple cider vinegar in their water for extra vitamins and they are always kept warm with a lamp and heating pad. The chick looks happy and pretty healthy except for her eye. I noticed today it seemed to worsen slightly by producing a little clear goop and a small glob of what looked like a small peice of white/yellowish infection. Was looking up diseases and started to worry so I thought I'd ask on here to see if anyone has any answers or dealing with the same problem, how to manage it or antibiotics. I'd like to get this under control ASAP to keep her happy, she is starting to scratch at the eye. I'm also worried about keeping all of the chicks together or if I should separate the one. Any advice will help! Thanks

It's probably a pecking wound. If you have some saline eye drops, also called artificial tears, flush the eye with that. Then carefully dab a bit of triple antibiotic ointment (or Neosporin) on the eye, getting it right in the eye.

It should heal just fine, but keep up the ointment once a day until the eye looks completely normal again.
