1 test egg!!!YAY!

Justino...when your test egg gets to day 18 you have to stop turning it and raise your humidity to 60 to 70% for the egg to pip and hatch...your silkie eggs you plan on putting in the incubator can not take that high of humidity til they reach day 18... and they have to still be turned til day 18 which is ok cause you don't have a turner and are doing it by hand........Understand?....

a hatcher is if you have different sets of eggs, hatching at different times. an incubator is for the first 18 days, when all eggs can have the same humidity, but when one batch is on day 18, and needs the humidity at 65%, it is handy to put it in the hatcher. That way it doesn't mess up the other batches of eggs you may have.

Make sense?

The hatcher is an incubator that you are using for the still (not turning) high humidity eggs until they hatch. Separate incubator than the one with regular humidity that you are turning the eggs in.

The hatcher is the same thing as your incubator that you have...it's an extra incubator nothing more...some people just call them hatchers cause they use them to hatch when their are other eggs due later in their incubators...

It's a tongue twister!!

just use an egg crate inside ur bator for the silkie eggs ((until day 18.)).dont worry about it leave ur 1 test egg on the wire floor. when and if ur test egg hatches remove the chick after it dries.then put ur silkie eggs on the wire at day 18.i turn by hand and have great results with this method, usualy like 12 out of 14 will hatch.
