1 Week Honks!

Riddle me this, Batman:

One week ago we hatched a brown Chinese gosling in our incubator. This peanut has been growing like a weed. We expected the growth. We hadn’t expected the peeps to be split with honks already. Are geese similar to ducks in honking vs “whispers/whistles” being an early indicator of sex? TIA!

Voice sexing geese is no where as black and white as with mallard derived ducks. The 'honks' are typical of Chinese geese.
