1 Week old chick question about treats/grit

I'm confused. i have 1 week old chicks(well, 8 days) and i just need to get something straightened out.
--What can these chicks have as treats?
--Where do you put the chick grit? In with food or with bedding?

Put the grit by itself in a small dish -- it helps to fasten it to the side of the brooder.

There really aren't any rules for treats for young chicks, only a lot of opinions. Whatever you give, be sure the pieces are small, and the treats shouldn't be more than 10% of their daily intake, because you want to be sure they get the nutrients they need from the chick feed.
