1 week past due date...what should I do?

It's been 7 days past the due date for my pekin egg. Is there any possibility of it hatching at all or can I assume it's dead and probably won't hatch? I would feel really bad opening an egg that still has a chance of survival, but I don't know how late is too late.

so you are on day 35?? Is that right? Can you candle them?

Yes I have candled it (it's one egg that I found) and aside from the air sack the egg looks completely packed. It's almost entirely dark and it doesn't smell bad or anything, but there is no piping, and no visible activity.

I think its way to late but wouldnt hurt I guess to just leave it I don't know.
