I posted a few days ago about a possible injured chick (my son dropped her) but later that evening another was acting similar- sleepy, being run over by the others, seeming a little off balance. We seperated the 2- both RI or NH reds- not sure which- together but away from the rest. The first one seemed a little better today- or so I thought- she was standing more, and we took them out of the box to let them move a little and they both hopped up on to my youngest son's lap and zonked out. Then a few hours later the littlest, first one I noticed, was dead. Comparing them to the others- all they same age about 1.5 wks they are much smaller and not gaining tail feathers like the others. Are they sick? Just natural selection happening here? We had 27 arrive by mail- one dead upon arrival, one very bad off which recovered for a day then died, now this one and possibly the other one too..all the same breed by the looks of it. Is there anything I can do to help this last one to survive? Anything I can give her?
The one up on his arm is the one that died, but you can see the size difference b/w them and the rest of the flock
