One of my hens is about 1 year and 4 months old. She hatched in May 2014 and is an Orpington. She did not start laying until spring of this year and when she was laying it was maybe 2 eggs a week and she only laid for about one or two months then stopped and hasn't laid since.
Also, her eggs always had a blood smear on them. I know that is normal at first when they start laying but wanted to make note.
My other laying hens are all laying just find. I feed layer crumbles, they free range, and I provide oyster shell.
I did find a roundworm in one of my chicken's poop so I am in the process of trying to find a good dewormer to worm the whole flock (about 30).
What could be a reason that she is no longer laying??
She acts fine other than the fact that she has always been sneezy and congested sounding, which here lately has gone away.
**Also I think my yard has Marek's in it since I had a bunch of chickens die this Spring (probably around 20 or so). Not sure if that would affect laying, although like I said my other laying hens are laying no problem.
