when standing in front of your dog facing it,make a loop of the chain and let the end you hook the leash on dangle down..the loop(around the neck part) needs to be facing to your right,so the chain looks like a "P" place over head, then turn the leash end to the left until it lays OVER the dogs neck,so when you are on the left it will work correctly,it will correct and release on cue..if you put it backwards it will not release and the dog will only learn to hate the collar as it will be constantly choked..hope this helps..

Sounds like a typical lab puppy.

She needs lots of exercise, and lots of training. Don't give up.

Everyone loves this breed because people say they make good family pets when they are older. But me. I can't stand their hyperness.

Unfortunetly I was given a 1/4 lab puppy this summer. And boy is she crazy. She sounds much like your dog. It drives me crazy. She jumps, and bites, and tackles every cat that goes by, she chases chickens. But we are being very stern with her. Keep reminding them that behavior is not good. If she bites or jumps we make her sit. If she doesn't we grab a hold of her collar and sit her back down again. And again and again. Now she finally knows what sit is, unless she is distracted. It is just going to take some time. And I have to keep reminding myself that as well. Or else I would rip my hair out. lol

PS. Mine is 3/4 Great pryness, 1/4 Lab. And she is a huge monster puppy. Me and you and get through it together.

Sorry I missed this question....No the dog goes on your left not you on the left......it is the opposite way!

She needs a new home or else to be euthanized. It is not worth the risk of people getting hurt. No dog in the world is worth having someone get hurt.
She is just hyper. She would probably do well in a farm home where she could run out her energy. But if you can't provide that, and she becomes a danger to your family's children, she must be rehomed. If you cannot rehome her, then she should be humanely euthanized. Children are worth more than dogs. The child's safety should be the top priority. And having a dog live a life on a chain is not fair to the dog. She is suffering from boredom and frustration right now. She just cannot stay in this home with these circumstances to her or to your little sisters.
