I have a one year old buff orppington hen who I found on the roost 3 days ago when I went out to open the coop. I brought her in the garage and can find nothing wrong with her other then her behavior. She just sits on the perch or on the floor of the small coop I have her in. She is eating her feed and drinking. She will not eat any additional foods i.e. the scrambled eggs or mealworms, cantaloupe etc. which she usually loves. Her poop appears a little liquidy but not much pretty normal looking. When I go in she does squawk and tries to get away from me. Her comb is bright red...I am at a lose and perplexed. This is day 4 and she's no better or worse. I took her outside yesterday and she just stood there. the other chickens were picking on her so I brought her back in. Any help would be appreciated...I have no Idea what to do. I did give her safeguard just in case today will be the 4th dose.

I forgot to say she is not egg bound....

Hi, it’s a nightmare when you can’t see any outward sign.
Is her crop full at night and emptying by morning? how does her crop feel?
Have you checked for mites/lice?
When did u last treat for coccidiosis?
Does she have any swelling/leaking around her eyes or any nasal discharge?
Also do you have a dog crate to separate, so the others can still see her, but can’t touch? Could she be getting bullied? Can you post pictures please, also of her poop, that would be really helpful. I’ll tag some of our experts who will be able to help you way more than I can. @Wyorp Rock @LaFleche @dawg53 good luck, I hope she has a speedy recovery :)

So, I just went out and now her poop appears liquidy and yellow no blood. I treated her for coccidiosis in the summer. I've been giving her safeguard for 3 days now....Perhaps I need to do Corrid? She has no swelling or discharge. Her crop does appear full in evening , but I am not skilled at this. I have checked for mites and lice negative....She is not being bullied she is/was my alpha and most vocal....this is just bizzare day after day no change...we do not have any chicken vets nearby closest is 90mins might just have to take her. The coop that she's in is on wheels....so I'm going to wheel her out today near the others.....

Check her crop first thing in the morning before she's had anything to eat/drink, it should be empty/flat, if it's not, then begin treating according to this article. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/
Take note if she's got any bloat or fluid in the abdomen below the vent between her legs, she may be having some reproductive issues like EYP, Salpingitis, etc.
Deworming is a good idea, you've given Safeguard for 3 days, I would finish the treatment for the full 5 days at 0.23ml per pound.
See that she's drinking well, some electrolytes for a day may be helpful.

I appreciate all the post and suggestions. Wanted to provide a follow up. I'm not sure why, but yesterday she seemed to turn a corner. She was a bit more active and alert. I managed to find a vet and took her yesterday. Eventhough she was better I took her anyway. She couldn't really find anything wrong other than she is 3.4lbs was over 6lbs when I weighed them late fall. The other thing she noted was when you put her down she curls her toes instead of going down with toes open? Vet said could be neurological? She gave me Melixocam and Carpofen for 10 days. This morning she is even better. Ate 2 scrambled eggs, cantaloupe, mealworms, and feed. Scratching and preening too.Wish I knew what the reason for this has been🤔, but very happy she seems to be on the road to recovery....:)

I am glad she is better!

What I noticed in your picture is that her pupil is very dilated instead of being small, which would be the normal reaction to all the bright light of the surroundings.

Could she have ingested something toxic?

I guess it could be possible....they free range during the day with sheep and goats. Not sure what but perhaps. Any thoughts on what the vet said about her feet curling when I put her down? Once she's down she has no trouble walking?
