hi
chick is about 10 days old.cuckoo marans. A tad smaller than the others. a little dried poop on bum. The crop looks bloated and feels like a balloon. Should I wait till morning to see if it goes down?
they get medicated crumbles and water with acv in it. Should I try yogurt?
Any help or info is appreciated.
thanks
Rhonda

The chick's crop is still ballooned. She is eating...actually eating like she can't get enough at times. I have put yogurt with crumbles sprinkled on top they all go nuts over it all but the one with the bloated crop.

I've been massaging it a bit, I don't feel anything in there really it just feels like air. There maybe one more with this crop problem. IF they are not down when I get home from work. I'm going to put them in my hospital cage.
Should I try to flush the crop?
Should I try to hold them upside down and try to drain it?
Should I withhold food?

Hello .... hello .... hello is there anybody out there? just smile if you can hear me is there anyone at home.
sorry bad humor
I'm at work right now. It is killing me to not be home to look in on the little ones.

I just read about crushing garlic into yogurt to fix sour crop anyone try that?

I have a girl coming in at 2pm because we have a reception to go to, but I'll stop at home to check on the chicks. Wish me luck with them.

Is it actually the crop or an air bubble under the skin? Does is crackle when you massage it? Could be subcutaneous emphysema. Try looking here:

You should try to post a little more info by going by the guildlines here:

AND a picture says a thousand words.

Thanks Sojeo I hadn't thought of just an air bubble.
I'll try to get a picture later when I get home. I first noted it when I got home from work last night about 10pm and didn't have time to get a pic.
No smell or sounds that I could hear.
They are on a wire bottom right now but they were on wood shaving for a few days, so they may of eaten some.

I'm going to get her/him and the other small one into a separate hospital cage when I get home so I can monitor what it eats and poops. It is with 26 others right now so it is hard to tell. LOL I had to put a blue mark on it's head so I could try to find it easier to keep an eye.
