are these that rare??? i've never imagined eggs could be so much. They are beautiful though.

Ha ha. If I lived in sunny LA, I'd probably say the same thing!

Believe it or not chickens are winter hardy. There are people in Canada, Alaska, Wisconsin and Michigan who can attest to it. If it is brutal conditions (windy, below zero, freezing rain), they stay inside. They basically hang out in their coop all winter...but on pleasant days, they like to run around outside...especially when enticed with treats!

Now me on the other hand...I can't take the cold!

Trust me, if I had a trustworthy incubator and the money to spare, I would be right in there with you all, pulling hair, biting and scratching to be THE ONE that buys these wonderful eggs so I can hatch some of these GORGEOUS birds!
