10 mo old Lavender orp flogging me

Is there a chance he'll calm down? I suppose. Is it likely? Nope. Odds are he'll get worse. I'd lose him now. It sounds like you never intended to have a male anyway, so no great loss. Plus, there are plenty of good roosters out there if you do want one. No reason to have to deal with what is currently inconvenient and at any time could become a downright liability. Do you have kids or do they ever come to your house? Look at some pictures of the spurs on a mature rooster and consider how much closer to the ground a child's face is. It's just not worth it.

Also known as the shredder or fray gene. It makes feathers look tattered/shredded/frayed. The defect is prevalent in other lavender-colored breeds too, not just orpingtons. Your cockerel is a handsome guy, but yes it appears he carries the gene.

I am probably gonna sound super mean but this is from experience I had a little creole colored rooster who thought he could flog the crap out of me the first day it started I nipped it in the bud i grabbed him by his legs just out of reaction and I slung him down with roosters it is a respect thing get him to respect you and he wont bother you
