Hi again.. its been a while. My little girl Sugar is now a pullet. She has a huge pair of wattles and comb so a part of me is concerned she could be a roo but she doesnt have any rooster feathers, never crows, and acts like a hen. Plus she's a white leghorn so she was bound to have a big comb and wattles.

My other pullets are laying. But its winter, so i was thinking maybe she reached maturity after winter started and so she's got a slow start? Help

Sugar is a lovely chicken. I see there are posts on BYC stating that some chickens have not ever layed an egg. Have you checked any of those posts out? She might not have working parts. Is she a good flock member? If she is, why upset the balance between the girls? If she were mine, I'd surely keep her if I could. :)

I definitely plan on keeping even if she never lays an egg, it would be saf if she never lays though 🥺 thank you for your input!

@The Moonshiner this is a pullet, right?

Moony keeps Leghorns for figured they'd confirm.

I have an Easter Egger that's was born April 3 and still hasn't laid. I think some are just slower to mature and then the shorter days delays it further. As long as she seems healthy, I wouldn't be concerned.
