10 month old silver laced cochin

I own a silver laced cochin she 10 months going on 11 months and she still hasn't laid she in the second to the top of the pecking order and bawks like the others hen she's a bit lit to the feel but she has a full crop every night they have optional oyster shells and their grain is more natural

I think they are pretty slow to mature. Is it cold where you are? She might just be waiting for the days to get longer. Will she do the squat thing for you?

Its 20 degrees our still I live in ohio (it's been very crazy weather lately) she not doing the squatting thing for me or my roo

I dont feed layer feed but I have self serve oyster shells that my others hens do great with her comb and wattles are red

I got her to be a broody so if she doesn't lay very much I don't mind

Yeah, I don't think they're a good production breed. They're beautiful though and great mamas. You'll probably get a few eggs out of her, but she'll probably be more interested in trying to hatch them

Yep asking more about laying because whens she starts laying she can go broody

I don't know, I guess it'll just be a waiting game. She'll start to squat a week or so before she lays.
