Well we are at 10 weeks and so far no crowing or attempts at crowing BUT 2 of my 5 black Ameraucanas are challenging each other. Nothing really aggressive just an occasional puffing up

So this is Gertrude she is the second largest and has very little to no large tail feathers yet and thinking she may be a Gus. Anyone care to guess?

And this is Maggie she is by far the biggest and the one they all follow

They are so darn hard to get a picture of! Or do I need to wait longer?

Gertrude looks like a Gus. Maggie looks like possible cockerel too. Pullets will puff up too. I find it harder to sex black and whites regardless to breed.

Hello! I have a group of 10 week old Americaunas also.. the first 2 pictures I've posted; both birds have red/bigger combs compared to the last pic which is obviously pale small comb.. I'm a new chicken momma but to me it seems pretty obvious which ones look like cockerels.. are there Americauna tenders that were surprised what their birds grew up to be? Curious how these 10 weekers turned out from OP!
