I have a mixed flock of two 7 week old guinea hens, 2 10 day old barred rock chicks (cockerel and hen, were supposed to be hens both) and a 10 week old Amerecuana pullet. They are all from Rural King, our Amerecuana was the last one left all alone in the brooder and she was already 2 weeks old when we got her with the guineas. She makes the guineas look like lap birds! Over time our guineas have become extremely tame for keets, they come to my hand and even hop into it, they like being held and petted and nuzzled, our barred rock chicks were extremely tame and affectionate and even clingy from day 1, but Ms. Chicken (creative name eh?) the Amerecuana pretty much panics and runs around in circles or tries to fly out of the brooder whenever anything happens, even just changing her water. She calms down and goes to sleep when perched on me or my husband (she clearly prefers him, it's like she's in love) but we have to constantly say shhhh and calm her down at first. I'm worried she's always going to be neurotic and stressed out, plus she makes the other birds nervous when she had her little spaz attacks. Is this typical of the breed, or does it indicate mishandling at a young age? She's adorable with her silly cheek feathers and sad little whine of a chirp, I hate to see her so frightened of everything all the time.

I'm sorry I did the math all wrong, I'm not sure how old she was when we got her but she can't be more than a month old at most lol. I am new to chickens but I looked up photos and yeah she's nowhere near 10 weeks, and my keets must be about 3 or 4 weeks old. It seems like we've had them so much longer though!
