These 2 chicks were hatched by one of my hens the end of July. I think they are both hens, but the white one is more aggressive and will stand up tall like a roo sometimes so I'm questioning. The mother of the white one is a columbian wyandotte and the father is a buff orpington. The mother of the reddish one I'm not sure of.

I am hoping so! She is really sweet and runs up to me to pick her up. I have never had any luck keeping more than 1 rooster.

Buff Orpington male over Colombian Wyandotte hen will give sex linked offspring. Females gold, males silver. Your bird is silver, so it's a cockerel. If indeed those are the correct parents.

I am assuming the mother is the columbian wyandotte because she is the only white chicken I have. Could another hen produce a white chick?

I have several black ones, not sure of breed, and several that are a mix of buff and reds. I also have some easter eggers, but it was not their egg. The egg came from either the blacks or the wyandotte or possibly a very light red, silimar to the other one in the picture.

I don't think any of those birds should throw a white chick. Do you have a pic of your Wyandotte? and what type of comb does the white bird have? If the Wyandotte is the mother, it should have a rose comb.

You might PM username Kev and see if he has some good input, he's well versed in color genetics.
