100% grass fed chicken

Each day, a hen eats about 120 grams of food and she requires about 320 calories.

It’s easy to find information on calories for human food. Grass is usually NOT thought of as human food but the nutritionists consider good old lambs quarter weeds as human food! Perhaps just to help us know how long people would last if it was us out in the yard free-ranging

Lambs quarters leaves, cooked
per 180 grams:
58 calories

So if you give your hen all the lambs quarters that she can eat and you even cook them, which will concentrate their nutrients, she would need more calories than she could possibly eat. She would starve to death.
The lesson here is - cook plenty of grasshoppers with the lambs quarters and serve a big slice of cornbread with butter on the side. Your hen will love you for it!
