Boy presented with limp, pale comb, one eye is half open sometimes, separated from flock in kennel.. sister has two half open eyes now so I added her to kennel. Now green diarrhea with some red tinge at first, now just liquid and green. Girl drinking water, stringy mucus in mouth, puked up water. It's been over 110 the last week or two which is normal here, but it's nice today under 100 cloudy and no improvement. Sometimes boy stands on both feet but mostly using one leg and one knee. Is this 100% Marek's? Is my whole flock doomed.. Not sure if testing is possible.

Canyou get a better picture without reflection in good light, and provide some details? I am not seeing a typical grey eye that looks like ocular Mareks.

Sorry I updated my post with some description, I was in the middle of typing when it posted on me. I can get some more pictures.

Does the one’s leg seem paralyzed or is he holding it up? Are they having problems seeing or finding their food? Since it is so hot, I would make sure that they are drinking plenty of fluids and I might give some electrolytes and vitamins that contain riboflavin (B2.) Poultry Cell and a few other poultry vitamins have that, as well as human B complex.

It seems to be only the right foot so far, I thought it was a sprain he was still walking around a few days ago but squatted on both knees to eat or drink. When I play with the foot now it doesn't respond like the other side so I fear paralysis. No issues with seeing that I can tell. No wounds that I can see. I gave them electrolytes earlier. They're drinking, I keep moving the water to them because they have runny stools. I had nutridrench but I can't find it so I will have to get more. From what I read mareks can progress slowly. I did a 30 day quarantine before mixing these, some silkies and easter eggers to my brand new coop... I've had them since they were 2 weeks, around 14 weeks now, so perfect timing for it unfortunately. I did have some baby wild quail slip between the door and the frame of my run to hang out, the wild quail are all over here. Should I try to keep the rest healthy and then send a sample to RAL for testing when I can? Should I vaccinate remaining flock? Plan to get rid of them all?

Im dealing with Marek too, and my two sick birds look like yours. In Marek the pupildexolours (becomes paler instead of the strong orange-red), each pupil can have a different size, bird looks droopy and weak, quickly becomes emaciated, seems not to pass food properly (I have sometimes mistaken it for impacted crop). Symptoms can vary sooo much. But green poops and "funny" eyes are quite good signs

My suggestion is you isolate the two sick birds and hope for the best. No need to cull the flock: some will survive, and some wont. And its practically impossible to sanitize a coop after its had Marek anyway. The survivors will be transmitters. But there's a good chance they will breed resistent chicks.

Best of lucks
