100 or 102 degrees?

A neighbor loaned me a Little Giant incubator yesterday. I read the instruction manual and it's telling me that the temp needs to be at 100 degrees. Unless you have the optional fan kit.

then it needs to be at 99.5. Everything I've read says that in a still air incubator, the temp needs to be at 102. So which is it?

I am wondering the same thing...everything I have read says 102 I would like to hear from someone that has experience with the still air LG too

Interesting...I found this site and it looks like some people disregard the 100 degrees that the instructions suggest. Looks like I'll be sticking with the 102.

the 102 recommendations I have seen call for the temp to be 102 at the top of the egg

aanywhere nbetween 99 and 102 degrees is finbe but no more!

I LOVE the details! I've used it and had GREAT success! I would error on the side of caution and stick with 100 degrees. This way if it fluctuates w/o you realizing it...you'll still be safe. I keep my bator(forced air)...between 99.5 and 100...but I don't freak if it goes to 101. Everyone has a different way of doing things...but I keep my humidity at 45-50% for the first 18 days and then during lockdown...bring it up to 65%...while hatching I make sure it hangs around at least 70%...but it will naturally increase as the chicks are hatching anyway. don't worry so much about it going higher the higher temps tend to kill the cockerel anyway but try to maintain it to 100 and 101 and you should be fine main thing is not to stress about it what will hatch will hatch
