Black Beauty - I loved that book as a child. Heck, I love it as an adult.
Charlotte's Web
A Separate Peace
The Great Gatsby
The Grapes of Wrath

Lots of good book so far, everyone! I adored Nancy Drew books! And Hounds of the Baskervilles is a favorite, too.

Orwell's 1984, Animal Farm

Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugs

F Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby

Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People

Sun Tzu's The Art of War

Charlotte Perkins Gilman's The Yellow Wallpaper and Other Stories (caution - disturbing, but will make you think)

Anything by Flannery O'Connor (see note above)
