100's Of Hummingbirds!

Well, at lest 50-60 flying around at the moment as this is only one feeder...

They are so neat - they love my canna flowers! Looks like their feeder may be empty...maybe they're ticked off! HA!

Actually it's full as I just refilled it...We're going thru a GALLON of nectar a day, some say that means there are 2-300 hummers out there...

lol... that's how my feeder looks outside my window by the kitchen sink.

I don't know HOW I will ever get any dishes done in the winter when they're gone.

Holy Cannoli! That's a LOT of nectar! I guess I thought it was red - that must be artificially colored, then. Do hummers sing?

They chirp a LOT!...We make our own nectar out of water and sugar, no need to color it red...

Could you tell me your sugar water measurements? I would like to stop buying the prebottled stuff.

2 1/2 cups of sugar to a gallon...I found recipes that showed 4 cups but thought it too syrupy...We tried putting 2 next to each other, 1 with 4 cups and 1 with 2 1/2 cups and we refilled the one with 2 1/2 twice before the other once so we stuck with that recipe...We go thru a gallon a day so they must like it!
