101 Things We Love About DUCKLINGS!

We had a thread a while back, which I still love to re-read, that was 101 (then became 1001) things we love about ducks. How about one exclusive to ducklings? I've got a brooder full of them at the moment and they are so dang cute. So I'm going to start:

1. The way they fall asleep in the water dish.
2. How they will groom anything that moves.
3. The weird positions they fall asleep in, with their necks at very odd angles.
4. The feel of their soft little bills as they test your fingers for treats.
5. How they never seem to pick at each other, and almost always get along nicely.
6. The sweet, soft webbing between their adorable toes.
7. The way hours-old ducklings will attend to just-hatched ducklings by picking grime off their down and generally grooming them.

Okay... I could go on... but I'll leave some for someone else!

8. The way they(unlike baby chicks) climb in your lap and don't treat you like an ax murderer when you reach into the brooder.
9. The little tiny head tilt.
10. The way they chase after you instead of run away from you(again, unlike baby chicks).

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my chicks/chickens, but ducklings are SO loveable.

11. The way they love to nibble at shiney things.

12. The way the look up at you from the brooder peeping as if to say pick me up and cuddle me.

13. That they always look like they are smiling.

14. How they stretch out their neck and legs at the same time ( often kicking a duckling behind them in the face. )

17. how they love it when you help find them food

I loved the other thread glad to see this one start!

22. When a duckling sets up for a biiiigggg stretch and then "bink" these tiny little featherless wings stick out.

23. When they get excited about swimming in a pan or the bathtub.

24. Watch them all walk in single file in confidence past the curious dogs.

26. The way they stand on their tippy toes and flap their 1/2 inch wings.

27. The "PEEP PEEP PEEP" of distress when Mama (that's me around here) leaves the room.
28. The falling over sideways while trying to groom their own backs.

28. The way they bill EVERYTHING, tapping on the brooder wall following the line of a mark like they're reading Braille.
29. The Happy Happy Happy tail wag.

30. How amazingly soft they are.

31. The "Hey you" look they give with the head tiled almost sideways
32. The super cuteness of their jumping up to catch anything above their heads on their voyeurs outside
33. The tumbling down after the jump up - and shaking off like "I mean tot do that"
34. Their fluffy butts up in the air when they get in deep water and have to try and taste the bottom
35. Thier fascination with themselves in a mirror
36. How they follow behind you just like they'd do a mama duck outside
