(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I’m new to chickens but my wife has been around them her whole life.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 10 Golden Comet hens(cross between white leg horn and road island red)
(3) What breeds do you have?

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I’m excited about having my own eggs and selling to the neighbors. I also like to listen to the birds and talk to them and watch the interact with each other and us.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
What’s a hobby when you have a new honestead
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
It’s just the 2 of us, a rescue English Lang mix, a German Shepard, blue tick hound mix, 2 Heinz 57 cats and now 10 Perkins and 10 chickens. There are also 2 hawks, 2 owls, a family of raccoons and definitely 3 different varieties of snakes on the property.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I ran across this site looking for help with feeding my new baby ducks. Tractor supply is horrible about keeping feed in stock and our co-op only caters to chicken people.
