11-8-9 chickens in coop.

I've already got the maximum amout for my chickens 11. I think I should get nine, ten, or eleven. My mom says eight. I heard that more is better. Is that right? Please tell me if I should have 8 9 10 or 11.
COOP 6X8 RUN 13X11 (bUT AGAIN SOMEONE TOLD ME THE LIMIT.)

I would go probably with the max amount. There will probably be some losses down the road. I have lost one to a predator and two to illness, and likely one to a heat attack.

JMO, but start with 8, then after you've had them a while, you will have had time to think about which ones you REALLY LOVE, and maybe add a few more of that breed, or add another breed or two you'd like to have in addition to your originals.

Yah, you all enablers. You never did warn about ducks! I think that was my husband's last straw, when I said ducks would be a great addition. He said he's prepared to start looking for the wives doghouse if I keep looking at chicks of any kind.
