11 day old barred rock

Oh really thank you what breed would you think then please?

Agree - a bit early. But, if it is a BR, there is little obvious barring, so I’d go with female as a male gets 2 copies of barred gene making the bars wider. Wider white bars on a male make them look lighter.

I saw some of those at tsc the other day. The tag said barred rock pullets. Not saying that's what it is at all because they just randomly stick tags on brooders but thats what was stuck on there.

I got them from a local breeder. I asked for a mixture of chicks but assumed from looking at this one that it was a br. The only other dark breed he does is a daisy bell which I think is a Rhode Island crossed with a Sussex. Time will tell I guess!

Yeah the feet look pink and I think I see chipmunk stripes in the wing pic so not a BR but not sure what it would be

Thanks will certainly be interested to see how it turns out. Don’t really care about breeds just hoping it’s not a roo as have one already and no space for another. Will have to update in a few weeks!
