11 days old: heavy breathing, air gasping ?! in chick with broken toes.

Wow that's tons of useful info, thanks a lot. I also suspect the DE was a bad idea, I actually didn't know it's pretty much just silica which is super bad for humans too and will now only use it on my animals if there's no other option.
.
About the little one I ended up making her sock sling to keep her knee in place. Today exploring her leg for a thousand times I actually heard the knee click back to place before I carefully put her on the sling. She's a ridiculously active chick, nothing like all the sick chicks I've seen on videos online that just chill on their sling... She's unhappy there, but has eaten drank and made trilling sleepy noises. So, so far so good. She has access to food and water (with lots of little rocks in it so she doesn't drown)
.
My question now is, any idea how long I should leave her in the sling (she's 3 weeks and a day old) ? I was thinking maybe 3 days max?
Also the feet don't touch the floor because I'm afraid she'll use the support to push herself around in the sling and dislocate the knee again. Is that a bad idea?
The problematic leg tens to shake a bit, trembling, but it's perfectly on place and can be extended and flexed manually. Is that normal you'd say?

The sling is for only short periods of rehab. Never walk away and leave the chick unattended in it. This should not take more than a couple of days to correct. Of course each case is unique, and you'll need to keep a close eye on the chick's progress and adjust accordingly.

Do use the B-complex. It strengthens the leg tendons and muscles and also hones the nerve connections. I would keep that up for a couple of weeks, longer if necessary.
