11 month old Cuckoo Marans doesn't lay

My beautiful 11 month old Cuckoo Marans has yet to lay an egg. My other 4 hens (2 silkies, a sex link, and a Leghorn), who are all the same age, have been laying for months now. I actually generally get 4 eggs a day.

Any ideas on why the Marans won't lay? She appears healthy and happy.

Give her time. I have an 11 month old EE that has only layed one egg. The guy at the feed store said I should try giving her more calcium but I think she is just a poor layer. We'll see what happens in the spring.

Might be daylight / temperature related. I have one also who hasn't ever laid an egg for me who is 10 months (Blue Andalusian). She is often in the coop on chilly days, even when the others are out, and is usually in the middle of the roost bunch at night. She is always the first one in at night. Lately, I've seen her in the nest box checking it out so I am hopeful that when spring arrives she'll start paying the rent.

Are you sure that she is not laying. She may be and just does not have dark eggs. Have her wattles and comb redden up? Does she squat?
