11 raccoons

Around here years ago lots of folks hunted and trapped. Coons were hard to come by. Now in recent times very few people hunt or trap them any more. Raccoons have exponentially grown in population even with a rise in predators like coyotes. Raccoons are very adaptable and opportunistic they can thrive in cities and suburban areas as well if not more so than in a rural setting. Trapping and releasing them doesn’t solve the problem they will only cause problems for someone else. Another factor is with so many of them diseases are an issue. It sometimes worries me about the health of our pets and livestock if wild animals that are potentially diseased eat or drink from the same food or water sources as our animals.
