11 week old Barred Rocks: roos or pullets???? Pictures!

How old is a BR roo when he goes cock-a-doodle do?
I have 2 BRs and I don't know if they are boys or girls. They are 11 weeks old. They have awesome personalities, I hope they are girls!

They both look like roos to me but wait for the experts to chime in.

That first one seems to be a black sexlink rooster--the white look to the head gives it away. Probably they're both black sexlinks. They have BR mothers and usually a RIR father. Definitely not a pure BR. They are both male, anyway.


These are BR pullets @ 12 weeks old--big diff!

Adding a pic of an 11 week old Barred Rock cockerel for you to see the crisper barring, no whitish look around the head like many sexlinks or BR crosses seem to have.

I do not know, but just had to say how pretty they are! We just got a barred rock chick that is just now a week old and I cannot believe that she will be that big in 10 more weeks!! Nice pics

When do these kid of chickens start crowing as little roos? We need to get rid of them before that...we are in the city!
