Hi there! I'm new here
We got some 10 day old chicks from a homestead back at the end of June. Didn't think to ask what breed they were (maybe someone has an idea of what they might be?) and I've been agonizing over what sex they might be since they started growing feathers
We have one cockerel, he is in the first photo. He is the only one who has crowed so far. There are 3 that I'm fairly certain are pullets, I didnt add any photos of them. There are 4 others who I have gone back and forth on what sex they are so many times - I've gotten different sexes from different methods of sexing..just curious if anyone can help!
Photo 1 - black chicken is our confirmed roo (his name is Roostopher)
2 - looks almost identical to our roo but more plump. Thick legs, same looking tail. This one is my favourite chicken so if it's a roo, he's the one we'll keep. (Not yet named)
3, 4, 5 - grey chicken I thought was a pullet for a long time but has the brightest comb and wattle out of all the chickens we have. Thick legs. But the tail feathers have me confused. Tried to get a closeup of hackles. (Named Mumble - looked like a penguin when it was a chick)
6 & 7 - another black chicken with some pretty gold feathers on its neck. I thought from tail feathers that it was a roo at first but now they're looking more flat and broad (not yet named)
8 - white chicken with sick sideburns. Again, thought I had it figured out by tail feathers but now I'm not sure (named Cornwallis Templeton III)
Thanks in advance! Any help with breed or sex is appreciated
