This is my first time owning chickens. I got 7 chicks from mypetchicken. All are supposed to be females but I’m having doubts. ChatGPT seems to think these two are males. The Delaware is making different noises than the others and I’m wondering if that’s normal or it’s warming up to crow. If they are males, I can’t keep them as I’ll only have 5 chicks. What will I do with them? Ugh. I’m stressed haha

The Delaware does look suspicious to me. Are his hackle feathers pointy? The color is so uniform it's a little tough for me to see. Your wyandotte looks like a pullet to me, but I'm not very familiar with the breed.

The hackle feathers don’t seem pointy. Would they be by now? I’ve also read that the tail is usually more white with Delaware roosters. I have 2 Delawares and the other one has a speckled tail but this one has more of a white tail. Another bad sign?

The wyandotte is a pullet. Wyandottes pink up early, but by 11 weeks I'd expect patchy wings if it were a male. That's not too pink for a wyandotte pullet and the lacing is even and consistent, which is what I would expect from a female.

The Delaware could go either way. The comb is awfully red for 11 weeks, but not too big. At 11 weeks you might start seeing pointy male saddle feathers if its a boy. It might be worth brushing back the feathers to see if there's any starting to come in. But at this age a lack of male feathering doesn't mean you're in the clear. I would need a little more time to be sure on this one.

I think those pointy feathers usually start a little later, like 12+ weeks.

As for the tail color being a little different, it might not matter at all. I've got 2 buff brahma bantams, and they look so different that I would swear they aren't even the same breed. People here assure me they are. And they both may very well be pullets, just differences in hatchery quality birds.
