Hello. I have a blue star chick that’s 5 weeks old. I have never bought a chick before but I have a broody hen that I can not break-she’s been broody since the end of December. I can’t have another rooster since I already have 4, so I gave in and bought a baby chick, which she did not accept. So then, I had to get the baby chick a sister so she wouldn’t be alone all day. I’m not worried about the cream legbar, just the blue star.
Blue Star chick has very large feet, but like I said I’ve never bought a chick but it seems that blue stars are larger hens so maybe it’s normal. I rescue wild chickens, and they’re a mix of all kinds of breeds and only rooster feet have been huge. I also read that blue star pullets grow combs early, which she also has. Sweetest little thing. I have pictures and would love your knowledge! The photos in which she’s larger are from today. Thank you in advance!
