Whew, at least I don't have to worry about her switching genders on me. Cotton, the Brahma, is going to his new country home this evening. Since we're down to one lonely little girl, we called in reinforcements. We picked up a Black Java and a Lavender Orpington this morning at the farmer's market. They're only a week old, so only time will tell, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that they're both female. For now, my kids are back in baby heaven with our new Olive & Violet.
I too should play the lottery! My brother gave me 2 chicks welsummer/americauna and I bought 2 chicks from our local co-op. Adorable light brahmas! 3 out of 4 were roosters
. Unfortunately a coyote got one roo but now we hv 2 Roos and 2 hens, so we are adding more pullets so we know a little better what the sex is!
