There's been many threads on this same coloring, this year. From what I could figure out, the DeKalb Amberlink was what they are. The coloring matches perfect, and most have come from
TSC, which buys from different hatcheries, depending on where you live. I have three of them, they were sold in the pullet bin. None of mine are old enough to lay yet. I do NOT see anything red, or any pointy feathers on my three either.
I think the hatcheries wanted to throw a wrench in the RSL to throw us off.
Maybe they weren't selling enough of those 'straight run' that were so obviously ROOS just by being the sexlinks. I know I'm being silly.
This breed was once in the US, and then lost popularity, and was used more overseas, and just this year was brought back here. At least that's what I could find out anyway.
Now I just wonder HOW MANY of these did they sell this year? In the Spring when a few of us got these, everyone said RSL ROO! Now more and more are posting pics of the same thing. I'm sticking with Amberlinks until I see a crowing rooster that doesn't lay eggs.
