Lavender EE - What do we think of that tail?

Bearded birds don't have wattles as beards and wattles are mutually exclusive traits
Sorry for this derailment
Legitimate question- what about the few who do have wattles with their beard and muffs?
I've seen it on somebody's rooster (on here) and one of my f1 Ameraucana cross pullets has wattles with her beard and muffs

Thanks all! Thats what I was thinking too, everyone's combs are all very pink or yellow with really none getting red but Im new to sexing and think I definitly put too much significance on checking tail feathers for sure haha so wanted to check with folks here. Shes also the most talkative of the group but think it's just her trying out her adult honking chicken noises vs her chick cheeps since hens are just as noisy in my experience haha
Well if she never shuts up that's a sure female sign.
Ya those sweeping tail feathers are a rooster trait but they're pretty old by the time they get them. Idk where the idea came from that tails make a difference when still young.
Seems female EEs can be notorious for have tail feathers with a little curve to some of them. Don't know why they do but I know the EEs have panicked a lot of owners on the forum.

Hi all!

I have 11 chickens that are 13 weeks old I'm pretty sure I've got all pullets but I am a little unsure about this one lavender Easter Egger just because her feathers on her tail seem to be doing a little bit of the swoopy thing but because of her coloring and her comb I'm still thinking pullet but curious if anyone has any different opinions?

Thanks!

High probability pullet. Tail feathers aren't looking rooster-y, comb is practically nonexistent.
If it ended up being a slow developing cockerel, you'd find out in about a month.

Interesting
I know I've seen some black sex link pullets/hens that have a few stray tail feathers that look rooster-y, but didn't know that was noticed in EE as well.

Thanks! Was thinking that was the case but figured it wouldnt hurt to ask the experienced folks in here!

Thats true haha! that seems to be a cross species tell cause I definitely never shut up either 😂😂

Also thats good to know! She's my first easter egger so I knew her traits could potentially be all over the place but didnt know thats common in EE. I probably wont hatch her eggs since I've got my sights on a bunch of my other hens for that so won't really have to worry about it in future batches but I'm sure as stuff starts getting all barnyard mixy I'll have more of that so will definitely keep in mind!

My EE nearly-hen has a huge tail (well, she’s molted half off now) and did early on. Yours looks like a pullet to me, especially her feathering.
