11 week RC brown leghorn

As my chicks have aged, I've been keeping an eye out for Roo characteristics. Val, my 11 week and couple days old rose-comb brown Leghorn, has the deepest red comb of any of them. But though I have several single combs, and a couple pea combs, Val is my only rose comb, so it's hard to compare. So Rachel, my single comb brown Leghorn, is standing in as a comparison. They are the same age.

I have no idea if RCs just have deeper colored combs at an earlier age, as I've never had any before. Just curious!

Typical female coloring - a cockerel of this breed would be black breasted red.

 

[Gray Farms]

Pullet. Males are totally different pattern and very obvious when they feather out. Like @sourland stated, they are a BB Red pattern.
