Thanks. That's why I've been hoping for hen. Super handsome. I'm not supposed to keep roos here, but I might try with this guy!

Yeah he's really awesome looking. It will be great to see how he matures

Is that genetic barring?

I don't know much about chicken genetics, but I think so! I got this one (and three others) as straight run chicks from a breeder here. All four came from the breeders 'rainbow pen'. The rooster in that pen is an F2 OE and I know he's got Cream Legbar and Marans genes. The CL is likely where the barring came from. Several of his offspring have crests as well!

I have two whites that are siblings and they are F2 OE roo on F1 OE hen. I also have 2 dark ones that have the same F2 OE roo and where hatched from a Whiting True Blue. Hoping for 'spearmint' eggs from that pullet!

I lost the gene lottery overall though. I got four chicks and three roosters

Just sharing the rest of the babes, since why not All five have the same dad (F2 OE), so they're all half siblings. The whites are out of and F1 OE, the blacks are out of a Whiting True Blue, and the red one is out of an unknown green egg (probably another F1 OE though)
