110 degrees today, has anyone lost any chickens in this heat??

Today was a close one but we didn't lose any. Tomorrow I will be adding ice water every hour (instead of every 2 hours) to make sure they stay with us. I've also cut up a large watermelon and froze it, giving it too them during the highest heat of the day. If they still show signs of high stress then we are going to mount an AC unit in the coop. We have it all figured out to the safest possible way, I just don't really want to install one for safety reasons.

Just hoping that the weather will break soon and cool us off.

at 9 pm it was still 106.... My older hens are on their roost in the hen house. 10 wk old babies are in their little pen in the hen house with an ice bottle. I have an ocilating fan out there. Change water and add ice all afternoon every day in bowls and buckets outside. My water bill is higher this month than ever in my entire adult life because Im watering everything down out in the back yard. They only go in hen house to lay and sleep. Its a shed with the ground covered in hay as the floor, so I dont want to wet it down, just all over outside.
I also have a full time job grooming here at home so I am running myself ragged trying to keep up with it all. I live alone and Im really tired! Over 50 days of over 100 degrees. This week is brutal!!!!
Please Lord send us some rain..............

I thought about putting a fan in the window to help with the wind flow
I just pray that this heat goes away soooon!

I just got back in from watering the chickens again. I took a whole bucket of ice and put some in each waterer. I hosed down all the runs and filled their wading pans. It is dreadfully hot. I am putting a watermelon in to chill. At least I have the option to come inside. I push fluids all day and still feel dehydrated:p

I have not lost anyone yet (pray to God). I have misters, fans, a kiddie pool with blocks of ice, give frozen fruits and veg every day and today...wait for it...

The DH installed a window unit in the coop!
