So you’re telling me out of a 90% pullet batch that half of mine we grabbed were roos?!?!?2,3,5 are dudes.
Yup, sorry. If you got them from a feed store, and if they got them from Hoovers. Hoovers is well known for poor paperwork and sending straight run batches as sexed pullets. If you want garentees, you need buy directly from a hatchery so if you get cockerels, they'll refund you.So you’re telling me out of a 90% pullet batch that half of mine we grabbed were roos?!?!?
Wow! I had no idea.Yup, sorry. If you got them from a feed store, and if they got them from Hoovers. Hoovers is well known for poor paperwork and sending straight run batches as sexed pullets. If you want garentees, you need buy directly from a hatchery so if you get cockerels, they'll refund you.
Hoovers is probably the the least reliable in the industry, your co-op might want to switch to a better hatchery. (McMurray, cackle, mt.healthy, ideal are a few)Wow! I had no idea.
Yes, my local Tractor Supply uses Hoover. Actually so does my local Co-op too. And I got the rest from them. (excluding my 2 Rouen ducks & they were from Rural king who uses Hoover.)
