We are offering for your consideration 12+ Blue Marans Chicks.

Our original birds were purchased from private breeders and are stunning. They lay a very nice large to X-large dark egg. A great addition to any flock. For those of you who fancy blue copper you can combine the true blues from these chicks with your black coppers for the beautiful blue copper chicks! For more info on Blue genetics and linage visit our website at TheFancyChick.com. From this breeding you have the possibility of Blue, Black and Splash chicks (mostly blue and splash) . Our flock meets the French standards and are all feather footed. However, clean legged chicks are still possible.

Hi. What is the difference in time between priority and express? And isn't it too hot to ship chicks? Would they make the trip across county ok? I wouldn't want them to suffer. I have been reading horror stories and couldn't live with myself if they suffered and died. Thanks.

Hi there and thanks for your interest in our chicks.
First Question: Unfortunately I'm not sure there is a difference in priority and express except cost. The difference should be that the express chicks should get to their destination sooner and as guaranteed, however, USPS has put a clause on live animals that they have 3 days instead of overnight. Their reasoning is the "extra care' given express lives. Which is virtually a bunch of crap (sorry...

). Not to mention they charge a 20 cents per pound surcharge on live animals ( a hidden charge not all post offices are aware of - well they are now......

)

Why do I make these accusations? Two weeks in a row the USPS 'missent' chicks, both boxes were express. One took 4 days and one took 3 days and went 3 states out of the way to get to their destination. So which is the better way to ship the little guys? Flip a coin. Postal workers should be educated on how to handle live animals but unfortunately they are not. If any postal workers on the management level reads this and has any input on the mishandling of chicks by the postal service and how to get better service PLEASE PM or email me, I am open to any and all suggestions.

Second question: Any animals that are shipped should be in a climate controlled area, never left on the dock in the hot sun, or in the back of a hot truck that could reach temperatures of 130 degrees. If it is 70 degrees outside it could still be over 100 in the back of a mail truck. That is why the boxes are clearly marked 'LIVES', it's a law

. Last week one box of priority chicks reached their destination overnight and all were fine. One box went from OH to CO priority, 2 days and chicks were fine. Unfortunately that is not always the case. I just wish the postal service were more educated on handling lives and a little more consistent.

I can't guarantee they will not die because I do not deliver them but I can guarantee I will replace or refund for the ones that do not make it.

I hope I answered your questions. Thanks again for your interest.
