But in the interest of learning about this breed - can you tell as chicks if they will be splash or blue? My thoughts about the chicks in this pic are that they are all splash because they are more yellow.......am I right? Thanks!

well,I'm still earning with this one, last year what I thought to be blue chicks turned out to be more splash, so I'm keeping a close eye this year, got leg bands and every thing.
but since I got a 2 blue roos over Splash hens, they should be 50/50 no blacks

My ladies are just starting to lay again, so I haven't got anything from my own to pop in the bator.
I have 14 RIR in there now, about half look good. I also have a mixture of Silkies and about half of that dozen and a half look good too.
Maybe I will need to get some Wine Dots and Orfingtons from you later in the spring when you have lots of eggs rolling out. You DO still have your Orfingtons, Right? I said RIGHT!!!????
