That’s so funny. My husbands last batch of chickens before me were named after drag queens. We almost did it this time but decided on a new tradition of alliterations.

Generation one is all L names.
Loretta
Lou Anne
Luci
Lorpa
Leri( it was Larry when we thought she was a he)

Next generation I think is going to be all T names

Technically we are not allowed to have chickens in Houston, its illegal. So far, my neighbors have been cool. Only way for the city to find out, will be for them to tell on me. I have sufficient space for up to 9 hens. I am planning on adding two hens each 2 years, to keep a constant egg production, until I get to 9 hens.

Check the crude protein content in the canned cat food. I know some can be less than 16%. Depending on what breeds they used to make ChiChi out could have put her egg production to one extreme or the other. In my experience first generation hybrids, not just sex links will get that hybrid vigor boost as long as both parents were fairly average.

Yeah, I do not want to bring unnecessary attention to my current setup...since I am not suppose to have chickens. I am just going to keep my girls hidden in the attic when the Chicken Anti-police comes knocking on my door.
