These eggs are from my pen which consists of a split 1/2 ameraucana 1/2 orpington cockerel which carries the chocolate gene over my black ameraucana hens. The genetic offspring of this cross will result in 25% of the chicks will be chocolate pullets.

I am NPIP certified and AI clean. I cannot ship to Virginia.

Here is a picture of some of the recent chicks I have hatched and egg color on the actual eggs with some choc orp eggs next to them:

. Well 6 days shy of that..

As usual beautiful Jean!

Hi Jean. So the cockerel you used was 1/2 bantam and the hens were LF? Do you think these chicks will be sized somewhere in between or just bantam? I am so excited about the idea of beautiful chocolate girls! Also, if the chocolate gene is sex-linked to males, is it possible to ever achieve chocolate LF from this combination? Thanks!
