Hello all...to clear up the confusion, I just got a message from terrielacy. Apparently this does belong in the swaps section. Hope it's okay I C&P your message Terrie--just easier to explain to all those confused:
Hi Tracey, thanks for writing.

The Auctions do belong in the swaps section. We had just gotten lax in enforcing it. The reason being is that the auction threads are very social and very chatty and fast moving. When they are in the regular BST section, the movement bumps the thread to the top constantly and runs other people's threads down too fast.

If you wish to have a straight Eggs for Sale post, it does belong in the BST section.

Sorry for the confusion!
We are in the process of making a better system, but until then, we have to make do.
