We got two Australorps right around Easter. The other one has a fleshier looking comb. And this guy is very red. We also got a couple bantams at the same time, and one is definitely a rooster and already has a voice. If this guy is a rooster, would he already be cocka doodling?

I think I see hackles, can you get a picture on the side view in day light?
I believe he is a cockerel, and no, they don't always crow early, especially if there is another male present in the flock.
