hi I'm sóley and I'm from Iceland and live in a small farm with only horses and chickens, and I just joined this group today
last year I got my first chickens, (3 brahma/icelandic viking hen mix) they look just like brahma hens but smaller.
after that I got little bit more breed, haha, or I own 5 different hen breeds and few hybrid chickens (I own 35 chicken) .
the breeds I own are Icelandic viking hen, brahma, lohmann, silkies, maran, and maran hybrid often called olive Eggers, easter egger and like I mention before brahma mixed chickens
I found out about backyardchickens when I was googleing something (don't remember what) and this page came up

I think its really fun to raised chickens, my other hobbies are horse riding, reading books (and I sometimes write stories to), and going swimming but my all time favorite hobbie is to spent time with my animals.
I have a small family (or it's just me and my mom), I own 3 cats that are a rescue cats (2 of them where living in the wild before they came to me) and the other one was supposed to be but down becouse no one wanted him, but I saw him and fell in love with him and today they are all werry happy cats :)
I also own a dog, Labrador/border collie and she loves the chickens, she's always making sure there okey

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
