My Olive eggers and a leghorn mix decided to come early.Still have a ways to go. those wyandotte eggs are bigger. my smaller eggs always seem to hatch sooner.have a couple pips though! love seeing all the new chicks!!

I have 6 splash silkies so far. My pekin ducks should be hatching any time now.

Last count, 5 minutes ago. 15 chicks, 3 are white throwbacks. Rest are either Pharaohs, or whitewing pharaohs.

Im used to shipped eggs, so these numbers are wonderful!

This batch was from my own birds. I’ve seen it one other time, but it wasn’t from my birds. It’s my cheapy incubator that most likely causes the issues. In the first week, my incubator fluctuated badly with temps. Then someone mentioned insulation and it has fixed the fluctuation problem. But the damage had already been done.

It looks more like a lack of brain coverage or skull deformity.
